no logon screen in start up
After I got rid of the mtx virus on a win98se machine the Logon Screen doesn't come up anymore! I tried a few things like installing win98 again, deleting the networking settings and reinstalling them, installed the win98 resource kid,... Nothing was successful so far. Any idea what I could do?

No Logon Screen
I can't log on to my Windows XP computer because no list of users appears on the initial Logon screen. The computer seems to boot fine, displaying the logon screen but giving me no names to click from. I tried to fix this be reinstalling XP Home over the existing installation, but I get the same results.

What happens is, the comp boots normally, I see the boot screen, but when it gets to the logon screen, all that comes up is the background image, no users to click, no shut down the computer button. Help just upgraded my windows xp and when it reboots the logon screen just display a blank black screen and nothing can do done. Try reinstalling again still the same problem. If I install the Microsoft Network Client, the machine reboots and I get the Window logon screen but no Microsoft Logon screen. Hi there, There is no logon screen on the machine I just set up. It keeps on booting right into Windows 98 no matter what I do. I can go to "log off" and it will come back to a log on screen but I want it to come to a logon screen each time. I have Client for Microsoft Networking enabled. What gives?? Gordon.
